A panoramic view of the sea and the dune forest
If you fancy getting close to nature in a lush coastal forest, then sleeping at the safari-style tented camp in the Amatikulu Nature Reserve should be high on your bucket list. The tents are built on wooden platforms that have panoramic views of the sea.
The 2 100ha reserve hugs the coastline and is at the confluence of the Amatikulu and Nyone rivers. There are hiking and 4X4 trails and it is one of the best places to do birdwatching.
The self-catering Zangozolo Tented Camp is built on wooden platforms high in the trees and guests have a panoramic view of the sea, the river, the large lagoon and the dune forest.
This reserve provides guests with the best of many worlds, the bushveld and wildlife along with stunning scenery while a gentle paddle across the lagoon in one of the camp’s canoes provides access to one of the most remarkable stretches of unspoilt beach on the KZN coastline.
