Mastering a craft
It is not often you get an opportunity to learn a new craft at the hands of a master craftswoman. WOWZULU offers just such an experience. Ma Mtshali and her craft group based on the edge of the Inanda Valley in a beautiful rural landscape will show you just how they learned this traditional art. Ma Mtshali will welcome you into her home where you can sit with her and a translator and learn to make a traditional Zulu Love Letter from beads.
Ma Mtshali’s home is perched on a hillside, surrounded by small scale agriculture. Hear the wind whisper through the mielie (corn) fields, the bleat of goats and the crowing of roosters as you learn a new craft. Ma Mtshali’s team of crafters each has a story to tell and will work with you, sharing their lives and experiences.
Experience a rare opportunity to spend time in a traditional Zulu homestead working with women who support their families through their handiwork. Their products are sold in our WOWZULU Marketplaces, exported around the world and sold in other retail outlets. Be a part of their entrepreneurial ambition as they take their stories to the world through their craft.
The lesson will take about 2 hours and you can take your Zulu Love Letter with you. You can also buy additional love letter kits as gifts for your friends and family, giving you a chance to share this experience with them.
Pre-Booking is essential.
